College Group
Our Mission:
As members of the Turlock First United Methodist Church, we are inspired to provide a voice of input for the young people of the church. We strive to make sure all feel heard and make a more equitable church and society. This panel of young people was created because of the need to fill a space where young voices could be heard and involved within the church. H.Y.P.P. is designed to create positions that promote empowerment among youth and young adults within the church community, and foster partnership and teamwork with all members of the church and society as a whole.
Duties & Responsibilities:
The duties and responsibilities of the panel are as follows-
To hold monthly meetings
Create dialogue
Organize events of interest
Discuss youth involvement & organization
Vote on any and all matters of importance
Community outreach
Collaborate with other church bodies and young people associations to create bonds and unity
Any other duties and responsibilities that should be given to the panel in the future or that concern any young person within the church
Meetings:
Meetings will be held on the last Tuesday of the month from 8:00-8:45 P.M. This panel is primarily for middle school through college-aged individuals to speak up about matters that are important to them and their community. All individuals are welcome to sit in and listen, however participation is aimed towards the aforementioned. All meetings will be transcribed and the notes distributed after meetings for reference.
Adult Presence:
Two adults are to be designated as moderators and will be present at every official event, however most duties will be performed by the young people of the panel.
Outside Committee Delegations:
In an effort to foster communication, team work, and provide input, the panel is open to have delegates from the different committees within the church or outside committees not affiliated with the First United Methodist Church.

The First United Methodist Church has a College Group for those who have graduated high school through 25 years of age. This group plans service projects and fun activities away from the church campus. You do not have to be enrolled in college to participate in this group.
