The First United Methodist Church of Turlock is a vibrant & caring church community where young and old can grow in faith and love. Wherever you are on your journey of faith, we welcome you!

Although we have a rich history here in Turlock, we are an active congregation of more than 250 people working and living in Stanislaus County. We continually strive to be a place where people discover the strength and presence of God in their lives. Our facility is “home base” for several 12 step groups, and community organizations such as Boy Scout Troop 451, two Girl Scout troops, and the Friends of the Turlock Library. That’s because as we reach up to God, we cannot help but to reach out to the community around us. In big and small ways, we attempt to do this everyday.

The purpose of the First United Methodist Church, Turlock is to Grow, Serve and Celebrate ~ Together in God's Love.

For any comments or questions you may have, please send us an email. Feedback is always welcomed and appreciated and we are happy to answer any questions you may have.

Holy Week at FUMC

Sunday, April 13 - Palm Sunday Services 8:30 am & 10:30 am

.

Holy Week begins with the Celebration of the Palms on what is called Palm Sunday.  Palm Sunday commemorates Jesus's triumphant ride into Jerusalem on a donkey as the crowed scattered palm branches shouting, "Hosanna", which translated means Save Us!

.

Thursday, April 17 - Maundy Thursday Service 7 pm

.

Maundy Thursday or sometimes called Holy Thursday commemorates the Last Supper Jesus had with the disciples.  A traditional component of this service is the receiving of Holy Communion. It was during the Last Supper that Jesus shared with his disciples the "body and blood of the new covenant".

.

Friday, April 18 - Good Friday Service 7 pm

.

Good Friday is a religious holiday observed by Christians world wide commemorating the crucifixion of Jesus.  This is a somber service that will end in darkness.  This year our Chancel Choir will tell the story through music in a Tenebrae Service.

.

Sunday, April 20 - Easter Sunday

.

Sunrise Service - As the day is dawning come celebrate the risen Christ outside in our Courtyard.  This service will begin at 6:30 am.
