Our youth have a place where they can be themselves and discover God’s love. Our gatherings are built on respect and care for one another, and living our faith every day.
The First United Methodist youth ministry includes weekly Sunday School classes for 6th through 12th graders, and evening groups called UMYF (United Methodist Youth Fellowship). In the past year our youth have performed in church plays, worked with Habitat for Humanity, gone Christmas caroling and bowling, participated in fun games and thoughtful discussions, and repaired homes for needy families as well numerous community service projects. Annually our Senior High Youth Group spend a week of their summer on a mission trip through Sierra Service Project. All of this happens in groups that meet weekly and emphasize fun, caring, and support.

Sierra Service Project 2017
This summer we sent 19 youth and 4 adults on a mission trip with Sierra Service Project to Spokane, WA. This year's theme was "Build Together". Together we worked on building wheelchair ramps and a shed for residents on the Spokane Indian Reservation.
Sierra Service Project 2016
This summer we sent 19 youth and 4 adults to San Diego, CA for our mission trip with Sierra Service Project. Our theme was "Set Your Foundation"! Our group participated in fence building, stair building and deck building. We also spent a day in the Canyon Lands removing invasive species. Half of our team spent a day in Tijuana at the Salvation Army.
